Expecting a strong tempo over this journey. FRENCH RIVIERA (6) needed the first-up outing and then improved sharply, narrowly beaten at the Sunshine Coast. Fitter again, and the local is well-placed to salute. MARATHIA (12) switched from a top Sydney barn and missed a whisker first up before a 1.7L defeat at Ipswich as favourite. Has to run out the longer sprint, but should be suited around here. DARLING TAKE CARE (7) positions forward and brings a 1L defeat from Eagle Farm. She will be in the finish with average luck from the awkward barrier. PEAK MISS (4) is a local who did enough at the Sunshine Coast on debut to consider. She draws inside and will get every chance.
