Comradeship is expected to lead at a keen tempo. Traditional Derby Day card for this venue, which is one where it can be an advantage to be up on-speed, especially on a Good track. Just how much rain we get Friday will prove crucial in that regard. Looked a race in two pre-scratchings but ROSANGELA (10) is now clearly on top. Disappointing as favourite last start, but gets the nod from a gun draw due to her on-pace racing style. WISER (7) - who is out of Lyre - gets elevated to the quinella slot. Was 3rd on debut at Mornington before going for another break. Fitter for recent trials and is among the chances here. ASTARI (4) needs to lift on what we saw at his only run to date, a six-length eight at Geelong, but recent jumpouts suggest he has and has drawn ideally. LIM'S PERDIDO (6) did little on debut but has been freshened up since and given a couple of trials, the latest a nice win at Pakenham. SUGGESTED PLAY: Rosangela to win.
