WEDDINGS AT TAUHERENIKAU MAIDEN 3YO 1400m Track: SOFT 5 True |

Without a great deal of early pace evident Winchester may lead the way over Valvano. VALVANO (2) was a sound third fresh up at Waverley when in need of the run. He would prefer a firmer surface, and with that run under his belt, he is the one to beat in this. SIERRA LEONE (5) fought on late when third as the favourite at Trentham a fortnight ago on a testing heavy track. He is peaking at the right time, and his first win is not far away. Follow your money. WINCHESTER (3) was put aside to mature after finishing fourth on debut as a juvenile over a year ago. He resumes as a gelding and will be fit after having a couple of trials last month. The stable normally has them ready to fire early on in the prep. Watch closely. KAWAKAWA (6) tried hard when finishing third at Waverley nearly 2 weeks ago, and will have the advantage of the pole position this time. She should be right in the finish again. SAVACHI BOY (1) struggled on the heavy Trentham track a fortnight ago after making an encouraging debut. He has a good gate, and is worth another chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Valvano to win for us.
