Scenic George, Royal Defense and Alabama Elegance will set a good tempo despite the small field. ALABAMA ELEGANCE (4) just felt the pinch late first-up over 1100m at Kalgoorlie when going under as favourite. She'll be fitter for that run and the 3kg claim of Cooper comes in handy. Expecting her to make her own luck up on the speed and with the added fitness now, she'll be very hard to run down. SCENIC GEORGE (1) didn't come up last campaign after trialling well leading into his campaign. He's trialled well again coming into this and he still has plenty of upside as a 3YO. Sting out of the track would be a bonus and he can resume on a successful note. TALKAWAY (5) showed good signs in her debut campaign and was only 1.6L off the winner at her last start before a spell. She is expected to be better over further, but she moved well at the trials coming in and she can play a major role. SETAGAYA (7) was very good in her first campaign and the recent trial suggests she can make an impression on resumption. ROYAL DEFENSE (2) is next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Alabama Elegance in the opener.
