Expecting a strong pace from the outset with plenty of speed engaged. PALACE PRINCE (5) caught the eye when third of 16 at long odds over 1200m at the Vaal on debut. He lost two lengths leaving the gates but finished off his race strongly. He would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should go close. EMERALD FORGE (7) showed good speed over this course and distance last time, tried hard but found one too good on the day. She should give the males a decent run for their money. OLD FASHIONED (1) is better than his last two starts. He has shown some promise and if putting his best foot forward, he should be competitive. SPACE MISSION (6) is an unraced son of Willow Magic from the Sean Tarry stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. If not in need of this outing, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.
