Strong tempo with Worcester and Showlas leading the way over Gage Roads. GAGE ROADS (1) has gone close twice since a 53-day freshen and raced favourite his latest in stronger. Maps for the run of the race and the 3kg claim brings him right into it. Overdue. A big watch on the free-running former Victorian WORCESTER (7), who resumes for the Bairstow stable. He's raced well in stronger than this and was beaten a nose in a Bendigo 64 when last seen on race day. He's trialled well at Lark Hill and the gun hoop is engaged. Everything points to a bold effort. NOBLE CONNECTION (2) resumed here and did a good job, missing 1.2L after settling rearwards. CJP stays aboard and is likely to push forward today. He has more to offer and should be right in it. SHOWLAS (4) led and won first-up and has tackled Stakes grade the two since. Better suited this grade and back to 1500m, and gets in well with the 3kg claim. Expect her to run along and give a sight. SUGGESTED PLAY: Gage Roads with the race form/fitness.
