MULAN ARDECHE (7) is a progressive filly who won easily here fresh up by over a length and then was brave in defeat when finishing third at Ruakaka 25 days ago. She will relish stepping up to a middle distance for the first time. Michael McNab steps back into the saddle, and the pair will be hard to hold out. ROCKY BELLE (3) stuck to his task gamely fresh up at Tauranga just over a month ago and will have the side winkers on this time. The extra 400m and this surface will help him, and he is ready to put his best hoof forward this time. Each way value. LA QUERIDA (8) has been patiently handled and has not been over-taxed with racing for a 7-year-old mare. She finally got out to a middle distance and broke through for her first career win here by nearly a length. Now that the penny has dropped, she can go on with the job. ROCKY BALBOA (2) was caught wide and then rushed forward to challenge on the final bend here 13 days ago before fading late. Stick with him from a better gate here.
