Without an obvious leader, it may be left to Astral Flare, Yasue and Sapphire Gold to control the tempo. SCERA VENUS (5) was beaten just a neck last start and landed her first top-three finish in the process at this track over 1400m. Looks close to a win and gets her chance in this suitable contest. LA LA NATURE (4) was out of the money first-up but has progressed nicely since, last start finishing second here over 1500m after being prominent at the corner. Big chance to grab a well-deserved win. ASTRAL FLARE (12) was sent out favourite but could only finish seventh over 1500m at this circuit last time. Prior to that had been racing well, collecting two minor placings on end. Expected to improve sharply. SHIPPU JOE (8) was beaten 6 lengths into sixth over 1500m at this venue at his latest appearance. Well placed and can figure in the finish this time.
