The feature race on the card, the $1 million The Archer. IOWNA MERC (1) didn't measure up in the G1 Doncaster last time out but certainly wasn't disgraced beaten only five lengths. The form prior to that was very strong at Group 2 and 3 level and the stable is absolutely flying of late. Will prove tough to hold out. TRANSATLANTIC (5) won three of his past four before the spell and is drawn to sit up on speed from gate two. Can give backers a sight. SANDPAPER (4) has a handy record over this distance range with two wins and a second from four efforts. Can continue the rich vein of form. RUSTIC STEEL (3) resumes here but has tuned up for this with two recent trials and is a three-time winner when fresh. One to consider. HELL (9) goes well for Lang who has two wins and a placing from four rides. Keep safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Quinella 1,5,4.
