GOING: G(3)

THANK YOU IAN WALTON, FOR OVER 20 YEARS SERVICE TO THE CLUB HANDICAP 1609m

Track: Good 4   Clouds (Max: 22)   Rail: +2m Entire.

Solid tempo anticipated with Kentucky Blue leading the way. BLACK SANDS (4) recorded just his second win from twenty-four starts when he closed hard to just arrive in time against some of today's key rivals over this course and distance last start. Drops three kilos and should be right there at the finish again. DUTCH POR (8) is knocking on the door, his latest effort to finish second to Black Sands here at the mile his third placing from as many runs this prep. Cherry ripe now and can turn the tables. SANABEAU (11) won a Class 2 here over the mile two back then failed over a longer trip more recently. Big chance back in a more suitable contest. NAVY SUN (7) was less than a length behind Blacks Sands here last time. Wide draw doesn't help but should be thereabouts. The consistent MOMBASA (1) has a strong strike rate at this distance so include him in all the exotics. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Black Sands and Dutch Por.
