THE US OF A (8) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a nice race when fresh from a spell last time out, finishing second and beaten only a long neck over 1000m at this track when he made late ground. Richard Fourie gets the best out of this four-year-old gelding. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. GIMMEATHRILL (1) did a great job to score by a nose over today's course and distance last start in a nice progression on the first-up run. Likely to be there at the finish again. RATTLESNAKE (14) has been in the placings his past two starts, finishing second over 1000m at this track last time out. Has a high cruising speed. Winning claims on best figures. TOUGH TERRAIN (2) did a good job last time, finishing in the money when second over 1200m at this track. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. One of the better hopes.
