Anticipate Mexican Queen, Finance Legend and Spanish Kat to set a strong tempo.
SCURGEOFTHEWEST (1) faced the starter for only the second time when a dominant winner over 1420m at this track last start. Found the line powerfully that day so the extra trip will suit. Can go on with the job. WASN'T ME (2) took twenty-six runs but finally cracked the maiden here at this distance last time out. Has improvement to come at the third run of the prep so another big run looks on the cards. KERMIT'S LUCK (4) is on trial at the mile but has looked a bit one-paced in the sprints this prep so it may be a timely move. Watch for him late. MEXICAN QUEEN (6) disappointed in a Class 2 here last start, the first poor run over the mile in three attempts. Worth another chance. SPANISH KAT (5) drops back in journey today and can improve on recent efforts. SUGGESTED PLAY: Scurgeofthewest to win the last.
