Strong pace from Kirkall, Jupiter Hills and Yeah Copy, with Somethin In Orange and Farnesina on their heels. Competitive. SIR MAURICE (4) gives away starts but is busting to win and the longer sprint suits. Found a couple better over 1200m at Sunshine Coast last time, and his best figures measure up. Thompson sticks aboard, and that's a push for his chances. SILENT FOX (3) finished second two runs back at Kilcoy, then improved last time out to score by 0.8 lengths over 1200m at Sunshine Coast. Had switched stables on a 19-day return and is a much-improved galloper. FARNESINA (11) was comfortably accounted for over 1200m at Eagle Farm, but prior led and won her Maiden comfortably at the Sunshine Coast, first up. Will present fitter back in grade, and maps for a soft run. LUDIK (2) spiked his numbers, winning a 58 here over this distance, digging deep. The inside gate may not be ideal, but he's got some chance. BENFICA LASS (9) resumes for a new stable drawn low. She's won fresh, and her best form stacks up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Sir Maurice.
