Bordeaux will stride forward but there are few first starters who can keep him busy. Tricky to assess, and the betting moves will be instructive. BORDEAUX (1) has been well educated but looked a run short at Pakenham on debut ($7 SP). This is easier, and the blinkers go straight on. Coffey sticks and will likely push forward. In a top barn, and this looks winnable with the extra fitness. PURGATORIO (7) debuts and is also in a leading metro barn. Has the inside barrier and won a recent Cranbourne jumpout. FLASH INQUIRY (10) debuts and just missed in a recent Caulfield Heath jumpout. Has an awkward barrier but looks to have good ability. FAMOUS ROSY (3) debuts with a win at the Ararat jumpouts under the saddle. As with the above pair, the betting should give us a good guide to his ability/readiness and that of the other debutants as well. SUGGESTED PLAY: Bordeaux has the race fitness/experience.
