Strong tempo assured from Lyon and Extremely Perfect leading the charge. EXTREMELY PERFECT (8) has been solid when finding the frame in his last two and won't get many better chances to open his account. Backs up quickly from Tamworth and is drawn to advantage. Clearly the one to beat. NORTHERN EAGLE (5) makes his stable debut for the Perrett team. Never got going last time in but his early form for the Ryan & Alexiou team reads very well for this. His lead-up trial doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence but is still worth keeping safe. NORTHFIRE (10) is a North Pacific gelding on debut for Melissa Dennett. Showed good improvement in his most recent trial when placing, and looks a capable type. Will pay to monitor and can measure up at first outing. CLAW MACHINE (3) didn't fire a shot at the latest but was good two back when beaten narrowly at Kilcoy. Mixing his form but is among the main chances on the short turnaround. SUGGESTED PLAY: Extremely Perfect to win.
