A race that lacks early pressure on paper. MASTER OF WAR (4) dropped in trip with a fighting on-pace second over 1600m at Gosford with the 59kg. Made rapid improvement last start and finds his race deep into the preparation. COOL SUMMER NIGHTS (6) not that far away when third to Barrengarry two-back, then closed strongly for a narrow second over 1500m at Port Macquarie. Expecting the blinkers to do the trick despite drawing out. Genuine contender. SUN TO ME (7) just over three weeks between runs when he closed strongly with a close-up third over 1350m at this track. Comes here in peak condition and a win looks imminent. COL DU TOURMALET (1) was well supported on debut and ran accordingly with a game on-pace second over 1600m at Canberra. Jumps in weight and class but not to be underestimated from the good gate. SUGGESTED PLAY: Master Of War can finally get off the mark at start six.
