Expecting Copartner Prance to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. The first of the G3's on the card and PACKING HERMOD (6) gets his chance to notch up a maiden Group victory. He ran the hands off the clock two back before turning in another brilliant effort here last time out as a $1.50 chance. This is tougher and Purton hops odd, but he's a classy customer and he can ring up the hat-trick. PATCH OF THETA (5) closed off nicely last start over 1200m after being a long way back in the run. This shapes much better for him back out to 1400m and he did jump a $2.20 chance in a similar race on New Years Day. Ticks plenty of boxes and looks the main danger. BEAUTY ETERNAL (1) was back to form last start in the G3 Mile here and Purton reunites this him today. He's won 3/6 at the trip previously and if he runs up to his recent effort, he'll be hard to hold out. MUGEN (8) can improve back up to 1400m and is not to be discounted.
