Whipstitch should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep her honest. CENTRAL VALLEY (8) resumes from a spell of three-and-a-half months after closing off last preparation with three consecutive minor placings. Has a win and three minor placings at this journey from six starts and is a leading contender. WHIPSTITCH (7) returned from a spell last start with a strong win by one length over 1400m at Kyoto Dirt. Open to plenty of improvement and can go on with it. TRILLION BOY (11) finished third two runs back at this track then improved last time out to score by one length over 1400m at this track. Yoshida scored on him last time and retains the mount. Must raise the bar but this looks well within his grasp. QUEEN'S DENEB (2) is a progressive four-year-old filly who hasn't raced since finishing second over 1400m at this track on February 2 which was the only run of that prep. Akira Sugawara who has two wins when partnering stays on. Worth including in calculations.
