Fast tempo assured with Norse Warrior, Flag Champ and Blackjack Randall going toe-to-toe. EASTERN HIGHLANDS (4) produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on this course last start when sent out at long odds. He was slowly into stride, raced green and hung outwards in the straight. He would have gained from the experience and will love the rise to 1400m. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat. BLACKJACK RANDALL (1) ran a creditable race when third in his first outing as a gelding. He would have come on from the run and the blinkers should keep his mind on the task at hand. FLAG CHAMP (5) was in need of his debut run over 1200m on this course. He would have come on from his debut experience and there should be good improvement to come. DIRECTOR (7) was in need of his debut effort over 1200m on this course. He will enjoy the extra 200m on offer and he can improve to finish in the placings.
