Expecting Sekitoba East to set a genuine tempo after crossing from wide out. CANICULE (13) scored by 3.5 lengths over 1600m at this track last start when fresh from a spell. Has a terrific record here with three wins and two placings from five starts. Must be respected. LAVANDA (14) has three placings from three runs this preparation, most recently finishing second as favourite over 2000m at Kyoto after being well positioned to strike on the corner. Big run on the cards. TAGANO ELPIDA (11) returns from a spell of ten weeks and did win first-up last time in work over 1600m at Kyoto. Likely to be in the finish. MI ANHELO (9) resumes. Wasn't far away at the only run last time in work, finishing eighth over 1800m in the G3 Nakayama Himba Stakes three-and-a-half months ago. Backmarker who gets home hard. A big run is expected.
