PILLAGER (9) struggled on the quick backup when jumping in trip with a disappointing eighth over 1600m at Dubbo. Finds a weaker contest and can turn it around over his preferred trip. IMPENDING FORTUNE (1) improving with racing and like the way he closed off when second over 1280m at Muswellbrook. Well placed to play a leading role. ARTIE'S MAGIC (2) gets a more economical run from the low gate after tiring late when fourth over 1200m at Tamworth. Cross over nose band goes on and stays in the mix.
