GOING: H(9)

LA NUOVA 1600m

Track: HEAVY 9     True

A solid tempo on the cards with Horonuku taking charge. DEE VEE PEE (1) ran the race of an improver when finishing third over 2100m here nearly a month ago. Dropping back to 1600m should not be a problem, and if the fence is the place to be by this time of the day, then she will be right in the finish here. CRAFTY COLIN (3) drove hard and only just missed by a nose at Waverley just over 2 weeks ago. He will be spot-on with his fitness, and is nicely poised to go one better in this. RECONVENE (4) sustained a big run from well back to score easily at Waverley last tie out over 1400m. The extra 200m is ideal, and now that the penny has dropped, he can repeat the dose. OUR LADY BROOKE (6) raced close to the pace and dug deep when finishing third by a neck at Waverley when resuming from a spell. She is usually much sharper second up, and she should produce another honest effort. Each way. HOLLABACK GIRL (10) built her form strongly for a well deserved maiden win at Waverley, and she has the scope to continue to improve with more racing. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dee Vee Pee can win this, and Reconvene can also go on with the job.
