The pace looks even at best given a lack of early speed. MALLEABLE (2) has raced his way into some good form as his fitness levels have improved, and he may be looking for more ground than 1600m at this stage of his prep, but if the track is not too heavy, he should be able to get away with another big run over this trip. FLAGSHIP (1) had to be used up early after missing the kick at Otaki 10 days ago, and if he can make a better beginning, then he would go close to taking this out. NOBLE LEE (3) resumed with a solid effort for third at Woodville 4 weeks ago, and he will only improve with more racing. He drops in weight from the amateur rider's level last start, and another honest effort is on the cards. TOR MENT TOR (4) plodded on well enough at Whanganui last week, and he may be put into the race at an early stage this time. He won't lack fitness and should offer some nice each-way value. ENA SHARPLES (5) was looking for this trip when finishing eighth last start. Stick with her. AZIZAM (7) is on the improve, and she has top 3 claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Tor Ment Tor each way value.
