A solid tempo on the cards with Hughie leading the way. Onto the flat now and HUGHIE (1) looks well placed off two even runs this time in against better company. He was beaten 12 lengths at Warrnambool last time but that was on very heavy going and this looks a lot easier. He'll be hard to run down. SYMPHONITE (4) was fair two back in better company two back at Bendigo but put in a nice effort just finding one better at Mt Gambier last start. She'll get a soft run and should be right there. AMBELLO (3) doesn't win many (just 4/52) but comes back in grade for this and should be competitive. TARTAN QUEEN (6) resumes having made progression towards the end of last campaign. She's got fewer convictions than most of these and can run well fresh. BELMASAI (2) was better second up and is in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hughie to win.
