Champagne Ladies, Ottalaus and Captive Rock to battle for the lead at a strong tempo. BOURDETO (5) did a fair job first-up at Sale then struggled in heavy conditions at Cranbourne last start. Showed ability last prep on top of the ground. Might be worth another chance at the first try on the synthetic. LADY IN RED (7) continues to race well without winning. Made a strong late challenge but missed by half a length last time out over this course and distance. Enjoys racing on this surface and from a lovely draw today is a winning hope. CAPTIVE ROCK (10) led but his condition gave out and he had to settle for third when fresh from a spell over this distance at Bairnsdale recently. Should offer a lot more resistance this time with that run under the belt. OTTALAUS (1) flopped first-up on a heavy track as favourite recently. Deserves another chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Tricky race - something small on Bourdeto.
