Plenty of pace from Mr Cornstar and Magatama, with the added uncertainty of the several unraced runners engaged. MR CORNSTAR (2) heavily supported into favouritism last start with a tough on-pace second over 1000m at Taree in the heavy going. Will relish the key jockey change from the inside gate. Looks hard to catch on the firmer surface. COOL ART (9) resumes from a lengthy spell after she failed to fire in town, including a poor last in the G3 Widden on debut in January. Went out quickly from the wide gate to run last over 1100m at Warwick Farm on February 18. Fitted with the two trials and can play a role today in this class. SICILIAN HEAT (7) Hellbent colt from Sicilian Miss on debut for the Waterhouse & Bott yard. Had plenty of trials in readiness for this and gets every chance from the gate. ELSKA (4) found a weaker contest when up in trip for a tenacious on-pace second over 1210m at Port Macquarie. Stays in the mix. BASCILICA BABE (8) started hard in the market on resumption before fading to run fifth over 1000m at Gosford. Improver on the firmer surface. SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 2,9,7.
