A race that lacks early pressure on paper. SLATE RIPPER (3) resumes from a spell at the right level for him, but he does usually take a run to hit his straps. He is stronger now and was a close-up second at a recent trial, and if ready, he is nicely placed from the pole position to take this out. MISS HIMALAYA (11) dropped in class and bolted in at Wodonga 2 weeks ago. She only carries half a kilo more in weight here, and on a heavy track, she can figure in the top 3 again. COLT FORTY FIVE (1) won his penultimate start at Hamilton before suffering from a cardiac arrhythmia at Echuca when finishing last. Horses normally bounce back quickly from such issues, and he is worth another chance. VEGAS DANCER (6) is only lightly tired for a 5YO mare, and her recent trial placing will have her ready to rumble fresh up. Don't risk her. SUGGESTED PLAY: Vegas Dancer each-way value.
