Solid tempo anticipated with Don'tcallmechamp and Master Polanski pressing forward with Surely Special not far away. EL SORDO (3) started at $5 last time and ran below expectations, finishing sixth and beaten 11 lengths at Wangaratta over 1590m after showing speed. As is the case with most of these, consistency isn't a strong suit but his best form reads well for this and he's better than last start. DON'TCALLMECHAMP (1) finished 4 lengths away in sixth last time out over 1628m at Donald two weeks ago. Up in trip now should suit and he looks to get a decent run. MASTER POLANSKI (5) built on a nice second two starts back at Bairnsdale with success over 1500m at Ballarat Synthetic three-and-a-half weeks ago, getting home by a nose. He's a winner over this trip and warrants respect. JUST LANDED (2) got home strongly for third at Wangaratta last time and won't find this any tougher, hard to hold out. OPUS (6) is stuck on 1 win from 18 but wasn't far away last time and has minor claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: El Sordo on top.
