Solid tempo with Mea Gloria to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. MEA GLORIA (1) ran well on debut last start to finish second over 1200m at Hanshin in a tougher race. On speed and just found one better on debut. Shows ability and can open the account this time. LUZ SOLAR (6) was unwanted in betting on debut last start but ran a strong race, finishing third and beaten 1.3 lengths over 1400m at Hanshin. Wound up nicely on debut. Improvement to come and should go well. SANT'ANGELO (8) faced the starter for the first time and finished sixth last start at Hanshin over 1400m, beaten 3.5 lengths. Plenty of scope for improvement. COOL TARO (2) hit the line strongly on debut last start to finish fourth, beaten 1.5 lengths over 1400m at Hanshin. Top-three claims.
