Fast tempo assured with Carricaz, Faerywood and Der Blaue Reiter going toe-to-toe. CARRICAZ (9) took on the older horses on debut at Moruya and never gave them a sniff, running away to win dominantly. That form may have been franked in race 1 here, though she looks an exciting filly on the way through. Can fire across from the draw and bring up back-to-back wins. NOTEABEEL (1) was too good on debut at Corowa and went close again last start at Wagga on the heavy deck, missing by 0.8L. Loy sticks with the gelding as he finds a suitable race again here third-up, and with further improvement in store, he can make his presence felt. SPLENDID MAGNUS (8) will be fitter for a recent trial at Moruya where she was solid and she has a few ratings from last campaign that stack up here. Racing short of her best trip, though this looks a suitable kick off point. DER BLAUE REITER (3) will be better for the fresh effort and can feature in the finish. EYE FOR STYLE (7) won't be far away first-up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Carricaz looks the one to beat.
