Genuine pace with Alabama Hammer taking up the running ahead of Who Goes There and Cool Waters.
THE WAY AHEAD (7) enjoyed a seven-week let-up before recording a long-awaited maiden win over this course and distance last start. Needs to move out of her comfort zone now but she is capable of testing this field with the confidence high. CES SOIREES LA (8) is closing in on another win, the latest effort an eye-catching second here at this trip when she came from near last to get up for second. Loves racing here and will be difficult to hold out. ABUSE OF POWER (2) impressed first-up in a similar race to this then led for home at Warwick Farm last time but folded at the end of 1300m. Big chance back in a more suitable race today. ALABAMA HAMMER (6) led all the way to get the prize on debut recently over the 900m here. Promising filly who can take this next step. PRINCESS CRUIZER (4) is an honest mare with a decent top three strike rate at Newcastle. One for the exotics. SUGGESTED PLAY: The Way Ahead can score again.
