Expecting Cheval De Foudre to lead Tobias at just a moderate tempo. CHEVAL DE FOUDRE (2) is knocking on the door with 4 placings from as many starts this prep, including a last start second by a nose as the favourite at Whanganui 4 weeks ago over 2060m. Dropping back to 1600m on a heavy track should not be an issue, and he deserves a winning turn. CHASE (1) warmed up late to finish fifth at Trentham 9-days ago and he will be spot on with his fitness fourth up from a spell. He has won his only start here and is the main threat to the top pick. DRESSE' PAR JOLI (7) needed the run badly fresh up on her home track at New Plymouth 7 weeks ago, and she has been around some local jump-outs since then, so won't lack fitness for this, despite the gap between runs. Follow any market moves. SEVENAYES (5) is capable, but it depends on which version of this gelding turns up. Don't risk him. TOBIAS (3) has never missed a cheque in 3 starts on this track including a win. He is ready to show some worthwhile form third up. Include.
