Strong tempo, primarily from Chappolicious and Bold Tee. KEVIN (1) held on well to finish second when first-up from a break last time out over 1100m at Dubbo after leading for much of the way. Will go forward again and looks tough to beat. WELLSPRING (5) is a four-year-old gelding who is having his first run for the Sharon Jeffries barn. Hasn't raced since finishing ninth at Wangaratta six-and-a-half months ago. Not seen at the trials but looks nicely placed. Among the leading chances. RUSSIAN EMBER (4) has been thereabouts recently, the latest result a fourth over 1100m at Dubbo. Should camp just off the leaders. Sure to be competitive. BOLD TEE (9) was in the placings when a length back from the winner last start at Gundagai in the wet and is down in weight this time. Has a high cruising speed and must be respected. SUGGESTED PLAY: Kevin ticks a few boxes from the good gate.
