Apex Predator should have enough pace to lead a low-pressure contest. APEX PREDATOR (2) drifted from $2.60 to $3.10 but was too good on debut over 1200m at this track on 17 June. Went through the line with purpose that day suggesting this longer trip will suit. Great chance to salute again. MEAN KING (4) met with confident support on debut last start over this distance at Ipswich but found an odds-on favourite with race experience a little too good. Will derive great benefit from that outing and can go one better. BULL RAYNER (3) overcame an awkward start to charge home for a close third when facing the starter for the first time over 1200m here recently. Perfectly placed out to today's journey. Right in contention. MY UTOPIA (7) was looking for more ground when just behind the placegetters over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast last Saturday. Should play a key role in what looks an easier race. HIGH AUTHORITY (1) returned with a tidy win at the Gold Coast last start and should be even more effective over an extra 150m today. SUGGESTED PLAY: Apex Predator to win again.
