Not much early speed of note and Obon and King Tagaloa may find themselves setting a steady tempo. OBON (3) will need to back up from Wednesday but does look the one to beat if here. He keeps racing well and a win looks close, boxing on gamely in tougher maidens his past two. This is easier and he maps for every hope. DETERMINATO (1) struggled out to 2007m on soft ground at Kilmore but had been good in two runs prior over a touch shorter and coming back to a mile looks far more suitable. He should bounce back. EXPANDING POWER (7) is coming along well and looks suited stepping up in trip now. She's been about the mark her past two without the best runs and should take holding out. REEL DEADLY (4) struggled when in betting on debut at Moe on very heavy ground. He can certainly improve. SKY DEEL (6) was another to struggle on heavy ground first up, his best last time in would give these a race at big odds. SUGGESTED PLAY: Obon to win.
