Solid tempo with Bay State pressing forward from an outside gate with Schon Prima not far away. BAY STATE (13) was well fancied last start over 1200m at this track when fourth, beaten 2.5 lengths. Has a wide gate to overcome but he can figure in the finish. STERRENNACHT (1) is having his first run since September 10. Has a strong record when fresh with two wins from three runs, the most recent over 1200m at this track at the start of last prep. One of the genuine hopes in the race. JAZZ DANCE (3) finished tenth at this track and distance at his last appearance six months ago. Better than that run suggests and is a top-three prospect. MARUYO JORDAN (7) missed the placings when resuming two runs back then didn't do any better last start. Likely improver third-up that can play a more prominent role.
