In the absence of noted leaders, Water Stomp and Nihonpiro Grit may be the ones to set a moderate tempo. WATER STOMP (10) resumed over 920m last time out and turned in a solid effort to finish third at this track. Won't be bothered by this longer journey and could pay to follow up. NIHONPIRO GRIT (12) turned in a nice effort last time out at the second run of the campaign and finished just 1.3 lengths from the winner in third over 1500m at this track. Finds a suitable race and can go on to take this out. KURINO ODYSSEY (1) has been safely held at his last couple of starts, the latest when always well back in eighth over 2860m at Kokura. Big class drop today and can atone. BABY YODA (9) raced on speed last time before fading to finish fifth over 1500m at this track. Leading prospect on best form.
