Diamond Soars to take charge ahead of Happy Horse at a solid tempo. CRYSTAL POWERFUL (1) was competitive in stronger grade than this recently and now gets the drop back to C5. Draws to sit on the speed under Atzeni who has been aboard his past few. Been a while between wins, but he's knocking on the door and finds a suitable race this time. EVER SMART (7) comes back to The Valley following a 3.5L defeat on the All Weather surface most recently. His two latest efforts at this track were good, but both over 1200m. Back to the 1000m for the first time today, but he shouldn't be too far away. MODEST GENTLEMAN (3) disappointed here two back before a good run over 1200m most recently on the All Weather. Back to this distance isn't an issue, though he is likely to get back from the draw. Watch for him flashing late. ACE TALENT (9) draws ideally and can feature on resumption.
