Jakat should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep him honest. The Currie yard has elected to start DECIMUS (9) here instead of Race 4, and the former NSW galloper is well placed at best. He was expected to win a 58 at Ipswich first-up but looked in need of the outing. He's going to be much sharper with that under the saddle and is suited stepping up to 1500m. His NSW provincial form more than stacks up, and Huxtable is a positive jockey engagement. Just needs average luck from an awkward barrier. Tougher sorting the rest. SPRING DAZE (11) improved again at Kilcoy up to this trip and is likely to sit closer today. Peaks now and can make the finish. CRYPT DE PIN (13) was tracking well before settling too far back from a wide barrier at Toowoomba. Draws awkwardly again, but the longer distance will suit. BLUMSTIEN (8) has his third start for the new barn and is capable of improvement. He has a couple of pieces of form that would have him in the finish. Darws inside today. SUGGESTED PLAY: Decimus finds a winnable assignment.
