BIG BRUTE (2) drops back to provincial grade having raced almost exclusively in stronger races this campaign. Forgive his last start on a bottomless track and his prior form makes him the one to beat here. Todd Pannell jumps on and he can roll forward and make his own luck somewhere near the speed. MYSTICAL WISDOM (6) has raced well against Big Brute previously and looks the danger if he can run up to his placing at Balaklava two starts ago. RETOURNE (8) went agonisingly close last week and can again run well on the week back-up. Last start maiden winner UNITED LEGEND (9) must be respected, while GEETEE FORTY (3) looks a top three chance on a track with give. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Big Brute to win.
