LANTAU ISLAND (3) sat just off the pace then went home fairly to finish fourth when resuming over this distance at Ipswich last start. Strips fitter and drops three kilos after the claim. Sure to give a great sight. WINCHMAN (8) registered his third minor placings from five runs in this maiden campaign, working home gamely only to miss by a long neck at the end of 1200m at Kilcoy last time out. Michael Rodd going back aboard is a tick. Will run boldly again. NO BRAKES (5) ran a much better race last start when second-up from a break, making plenty of late ground to finish third over this trip at the Sunshine Coast. Cherry ripe and will be hard to hold out. RUINS OF ROME (12) is back from a five-month spell. Placed at the only two runs of his maiden prep and should return in a positive manner. INNERVISIONS (10) was a shade disappointing as favourite at Beaudesert last time. Freshened up and capable of better. SUGGESTED PLAY: This looks a nice race for Lantau Island.
