Genuine tempo with Smile Jonas to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. APOLLO TENNESSEE (8) got the job done last start at Himeji over this distance after he was prominent at the turn. Has a very good record over today's journey with nine wins from 13 starts. Bold showing expected. MANTEGNA (2) missed the frame first-up but looks ready to win now after two straight placings, the latest over 1400m at Himeji. Shinjo Kaisei stays on and although yet to win has been in the money on two occasions. Likely to feature. WINDY PALACE (11) was safely held in tougher company two runs back then appreciated the drop in grade last time and scored over 1400m at Himeji. In the right form and expected to run well again. MILD PRIME (3) comes here off a break of four months. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last time in work over 1230m at this track. Worth plenty of thought.
