GOING: H(9)

WHATEVER IT TAKES BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1800m

Track: HEAVY 9   Rain (Max: 28)   Rail: +2m Entire.

Not a great deal of pressure likely in the small field, with Ring Bearer a potential leader. CANTARITO (8) tackled city class over this distance at Eagle Farm finishing 2.75 lengths from the winner. Has placed in a Grafton trial since and Ben Thompson is a key jockey engagement on the Waller-trained galloper. Her Sydney form reads well, and she will appreciate a drop in grade. Well placed to win. PULVERISER (5) is a talented type yet to taste defeat after two runs this campaign, the latest over 1400m at this track. Extra trip suits the former Victorian and on a quick backup he can threaten. RING BEARER (4) comes back in class after finishing 3 lengths away over 2200m at Eagle Farm two weeks ago. Won a 68 here prior this distance and can figure in the finish. CENTRAL PARK (1) found the grade too hot at Doomben but went close here the one prior. Mixes the form but is back home and would have claims if he put his best foot forward. SUGGESTED PLAY: Cantarito to win.
