Fast pace assured with Lucky Dice, Tampa and Proud Capitalist leading the charge. DEEP PURSUIT (1) is a lightly tried 6-year-old gelding who has been racing well this year, and fought on well when finishing fourth as the favourite at Taupo nearly 3 weeks ago over 1100m. He probably prefers racing over 1200m, and with Opie Bosson back in the saddle, he is the one to beat. CENTURIAL (7) ran on late when finishing fifth and just behind the top pick in the same race on debut. Craig Grylls replaces an apprentice, and if 1200m is not already too short for him, then he can figure in the top 3. BOOMSTRUCK (5) set the pace and kicked on bravely for third at Te Aroha last week. He cops a tougher gate this time, but can be ridden off the pace as well. He has more to offer, and he should pick up his first win at short notice. LUCKY DICE (8) had looked good at the trials before failing to fire as a warm favourite on debut at Matamata in the spring, getting pulled up before the finish. He has been back in winning form at a couple of trials this year. Follow your money. SUGGESTED PLAY: Deep Pursuit can win, but Lucky Dice bears close watching.
