Solid tempo with Alpine Whiskey leading from Gee Gees Brother and Turfaction. Tough. The Victorian VEINS WITHIN ROCK (8) turned the form around when finishing hard here over 1400m beaten a half-length. There was a lot to like about that effort and he can sit handier from an inside barrier. Jett Stanley is reunited and he gets his chance to go one better. A QUEENS BUZZ (12) was heavily backed at Hobart over 1430m but after racing handy lacked finishing dash. She went close all three runs prior and Byrne Burke sticks aboard. Has an awkward barrier but tackles a mile for the first time and is worth another chance. CALLED THROUGH (2) progressed again last time to finish just half a length from the winner in second over 1600m at Hobart. Impressed finishing hard from well back in the field. His racing pattern is against he's capable of breaking through if the ride works out. JOEJOE (9) disappointed last time but missed a whisker over 1430m at Hobart prior. That stacks up and he can't be ruled out with the extra fitness. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Veins Within Rock.
