A race that lacks early pressure. POUR BENN (7) took a while to find clear galloping room then went to the line fairly to finish third last start over 1600m at Newcastle. Blinkers back on may sharpen him up. Just needs even luck in running to fully test this line-up. NOTHING FINER (6) was ridden more aggressively last time out and battled on well for third over 1300m at this track. Steps up to this trip for the first time but is lightly raced and looks ready for the challenge. PURPLE HAZE (1) started favourite but missed the maiden win in a photo over today's journey at Port Macquarie recently. Has failed twice at the provincials but both were on heavy tracks. Not out of the equation. Three-start veteran NEFERUSOBEK (5) improves at each appearance, narrowly missing in an eye-catching effort over this course and distance last start. Sure to be thereabouts again. Bit of a gap then to AUTUMN SURF (2) who may do better this time with the blinkers going on. SUGGESTED PLAY: Pour Benn is ready to win.
