A solid tempo on the cards with Zingalong taking charge. TILL DUSK (12) is a former Victorian who has come back to racing further improved. Presents off two second placings at Doomben and has a key jockey switch to Ben Thompson. She has upside and from a handy gate can stalk the speed. The one they have to beat. MIDNIGHT DRIFTER (2) was quickly back on track when winning a 68 easily here over 1200m first-up. Has won 2/4 this course/distance and keeps the handy 2kg claim. Fitter and can feature in the finish with average luck from the awkward barrier. RETAINER (10) won a 65 by a space at Rockhampton and then had strong support again when she disappointed this track/trip. Prepared to forgive that and she tumbles in weight this grade with a 3kg claim atop. That brings her right into it. KATDEEL (3) has been racing over a mile in stronger. Went well here two back before a plainer effort when in the market at Eagle Farm (vet cleared). Carries a lot more weight at this level, but can't be ruled out. SUGGESTED PLAY: Till Dusk to win.
