Reasonable tempo with Vee Rod probably leading but a few others should keep him honest. SURFY PETE (3) progressed nicely last time out when he worked home well to finish a narrow third over this trip at Horsham. Rates highly on best figures and looks the one to beat. ZAIN PRINCE (2) appreciated dropping back to this level last start when finishing second at Port Lincoln. Model of consistency for the stable and is drawn to advantage. Will be in this for a long way. RIPPA BUDDY (4) got things back on track at the latest when beaten a neck at Colac. Boasts a strong record over this trip and is among the key hopes. WILD WILLY (1) was a strong winner two back at Gawler. Less effective last time but has peaks that measure right up. Don't dismiss. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Surfy Pete.
