Moderate tempo headed by What's The Point. Thinking ROMANTIC RULER (1) represents some value following a narrow victory last start on the Scarpside. He got there just in time last start and the rise to the mile should help his chances. A bit of sting out will suit and if he can run up to his recent performance, he can repeat the dose. HIGHLAND FLAIR (2) finished 2.1L off the winner at Bunbury off a freshen two back and went close last start at this track. Up to the mile today, however that should suit being by Highland Reel. Has shown some versatility in recent outings and can be in the finish if he can replicate his latest performance. OCEAN RANGER (8) comes here off a 63-day break and drops back to the mile. The booking of Pike is a good push for his chances and if they run along up front, he's sure to be strong at the finish. WHAT'S THE POINT (3) will be fitter for the fresh run and can improve with the blinkers on. QUICK COOKIE (7) was solid over this track and trip on the quick turnaround last start and won't be far away SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Romantic Ruler.
