Plenty of first starters engaged which makes it tricky to map, but we can assume a keen tempo. This looks a hot maiden. TUSCANY (12) is the one to watch having been heavily backed to start $2.50 on debut in the G3 Breeders Plate at Randwick last time in. He was okay there in a bunched finish before missing the Autumn. Just the one trial leading in here but clearly has ability and must respect the top yard. GRAND PRAIRIE (4) also resumes for his second campaign. He's a very well-bred colt and both runs last time in were good in strong company. He's won his latest trial and can improve this time in. MELANITE (6) hit the line strongly at Hawkesbury over 1000m first up off the back of a nice trial. Fitter for that and should take some beating. NINJA (7) is a gelding by Farnan who has been heavily supported in early betting on debut for the Michael Freedman yard. He's trialled very nicely and there's been winning form out of that last heat. No shock to see him go close. SUGGESTED PLAY: Tuscany to win.
